To work as a Team member in providing a Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Service (CR/HT) in Powys. The CR/HT service will provide a service for adults who are experiencing a Mental Health crisis and are at risk of admission to Hospital. Intensive Home Treatment will be provided in collaboration with the service user and in the least restrictive setting, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year as per rota. CR/HT will also facilitate the early discharge of those admitted to inpatient units, through intensive but time limited intervention in the community

Main duties of the job

We provide a service to people in acute mental health need, and offer an alternative to going into Hospital by providing intense support at home. We work 9-9 7 days a week every day of the year, so shift-work is essential in a mixture of 12-hour and 8-hour shifts.

We are looking for a qualified practitioner- a Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist. You will need to have experience of community mental health work and to be passionate about this area of work. We are a supportive team, with a low turnover of staff and we work in a beautiful rural area.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Professional Qualification- Social Worker/RMN/Occupational Therapist
  • Experience in Community Mental Health Service


Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential

  • Applicants may be from a range of professions who are suitably qualified at one of the following levels o Diploma/Degree in Mental Health Nursing, or equivalent (RMN) and NMC registration o Degree level Social care qualification o Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • High level of assessment/ risk assessment/ planning and evaluation skills necessary for working with acute Mental Health crisis
  • CTP working practices
  • Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation
  • POVA/safeguarding
  • Sound understanding of Mental Health Measure
  • Awareness of current developments in Mental Health Practice
  • Evidence of clinical and professional post qualification training and development
  • Prepared to undertake relevant skills training

  • AOTMH member, Fieldwork educator certificate

Experience
