CLINICAL EDUCATOR - CRITICAL CARE
Band 6 - 37.5 hours per week - Permanent
An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Educator to join the Critical Care team.
The Clinical Educator will be expected to drive training and education programmes across Critical Care.
The post holder will support the Lead Clinical Educator, Lead Nurses and Deputy Matron to achieve educational goals set by the Trust and Network and develop educational strategies to meet objectives. The overall aim of the role is to ensure the workforce is competently trained to fulfil the responsibilities of their role and able to provide a safe, high quality and efficient service within a healthy work environment.
The post holder will be responsible to work in collaboration to share goals and clinical competence within a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary workforce. They must be committed to excellence with a clear vision and strategic focus for empowering education and promote productivity within an educational budget.

Main duties of the job
- To deliver an educational strategy through a combination of teaching and learning techniques to enable the educators and learners to create an optimal educational process, through technology, content, administration, support and communication.
- Maintenance of high standards of nursing care, ensuring adherence to Trust policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Support staff in the delivery of holistic patient care recognising the individual needs of patients and their relatives.
- Effectively utilise staff and resources in accordance with Trust policies.
- Prioritise workload effectively to manage competing priorities.
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintain written reports, handovers and legal documentation to required levels.
- Participate in the promotion of clinical governance, standard setting, implementation and audit.
- Initiate and lead quality improvement to the benefit of staff, relatives and the patient.
- Effectively manage the Trust e-rostering system, safe care, sunrise and ICCA.
