Radiographer, Band 5-6 Development Opportunity, West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven and CDC based in Workington up to 262.5 hours available.
North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint Band 6 Specialist Radiographer or 5-6 Development posts (Rotational) to join the team at WCH. The post has a requirement to rotate to the CDC based at Workington
This post is suitable for Radiographers with at least one year post qualifying experience to work on a rotational basis across CT/MRI and plain film.
The work area will be dependant on the role appointed to (according to experience of successful applicant) and would include a combination of the following - main x-ray where you would be expected to participate in all aspects of plain film X-ray including in community sites, Theatres, Fluoroscopy CT and MRI. You must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to coordinate workflow and a focus on providing a caring, patient centred and flexible approach to work.
A 24/7 shift system is in operation at WCH with rotation across plain film, this includes CT commitments and a requirement to work at the CDC based in Workington undertaking CT/MRI and plain film duties on rota basis (8-8 seven days a week). All staff are expected to work at other sites in the trust, if required, to meet service needs however this post is based at WCH, Whitehaven.
Main duties of the job
This post offers a unique opportunity for a highly motivated Radiographer to develop their imaging skills as part of a small dedicated team in a busy District General Hospital. Duties involve rotation through CT/ MRI and plain film X-Ray area of the department which includes plain film, fluoroscopy and theatre imaging.
It is essential that you are flexible and able to work a range of shift patterns that will include long days, evenings, out of hours and weekends according to the needs of the service. A 24/7 shift system is in operation for both CT and plain film at the acute site.Staff may be asked to cover at other sites when required, this includes community sites where they would be the sole radiographer.
