We welcome applications from enthusiastic clinical/counselling psychologists or psychotherapists, with a special interest in working with older people. Whilst this post is suitable for a band 8A, we would happily support the career development of a band 7 via a preceptorship programme.
The role is diverse and allows you a chance to develop your own individual therapy skills as well as your neuropsychological assessment skills, if that is an area of interest. You will have opportunities to continue with your professional development, help improve services, and work with a range of skilled professionals. You will be a member of, and supported by, the Older People's Psychology team, which is a friendly team of psychologists and art psychotherapists.
There is currently a full-time post (up to 37.5 hours per week) and a part-time post available. The posts are based in Poole and Wimborne.
We welcome informal visits. For any queries about the role please contact Debbie de Wet, Consultant Clinical Psychologist at debbie.dewet@nhs.net or on 01305 361700.
Please see attached the Band 7 and Band 8a specific Job Description and Person Specification to ensure that you meet the requirements for this role.

Duties will also include working with families and carers as well as allied care agencies.
Your will manage a complex caseload autonomously and make decisions regarding treatment options considering evidence base and various therapeutic models. You will monitor clinical progress through regular reviews of psychological treatment as well as outcome measures.
In line with experience and role development plans, you will provide supervision and mentorship to junior clinicians and trainees, contributing to their professional development and enhancing the treatment they offer.
There are opportunities to contribute to service development as well as advancing clinical leadership skills.
