The post will be based at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital working with other members of the MDT on the development and delivery of a specialist bariatric surgery service. You will be supported to develop your skills with funded courses and shadowing opportunities.
Once established in your role there will be the option to work some days from home.
Main duties of the job
This post that offers a unique challenge for a highly motivated dietitian with and interest in bariatric surgery, excellent communication skills and passion to support innovative service development at our hospitals.
The successful candidate will work with the clinical lead to provide highly specialist dietetic input to bariatric services including provision of care and education to patients, development of dietary policy and guidelines for the service, development of dietetic educational resources and learning opportunities in relation to obesity and bariatric surgery, for GPs, consultants and other health care professionals including dietetic students.
This role will provide you with excellent and supported professional and personal development. You will have opportunities to be involved with dietetic student placements, multidisciplinary team nutrition training, audit, research and the development of the MTW dietetic service and associated treatment pathways.

- Post graduate experience in clinical dietetics
- Previous experience working in the nutritional management of patients with morbid obesity and bariatric surgery
- Experience of undertaking clinical audit
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working
- Knowledge of professional code of conduct and guidance issued by your professional body and adherence to these.
- Well established and in depth knowledge of a range of recent developments in practice
Desirable
- Experience of facilitating patient group sessions
- Knowledge of National guidelines relating to obesity and bariatric surgery e.g. NICE, BOMSS
