THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 9 MONTHS DUE TO COVER MATERNITY LEAVE
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR THE SECONDMENT POSITION, YOU MUST OBTAIN PERMISSION FROM YOUR CURRENT LINE MANAGER PRIOR TO APPLYING FOR THIS POST.
Perform with competency and autonomy echocardiograms, alongside clinical assessment skills, to interpret results based on highly developed skills and theoretical knowledge.
Plan and deliver complex assessments and provide highly specialised advice to patients and healthcare professionals.
Main duties of the job
Work as an independent practitioner within a team, to deliver an effective and efficient service with high standards of care.
Provide supervision and training in the specialist area of Echocardiography for less experienced staff and student Physiologists.
Perform and report trans-thoracic echocardiograms.
Lead advanced echocardiography clinics, including surveillance clinics, assuming responsibility for patients care and treatment.
Ensure that resources and equipment are available to provide an echocardiography and ECG monitoring service identify and highlight problems that you cannot manage directly, communicating the issues to appropriate colleagues in a timely manner.
Facilitate risk stratification of patients waiting for echocardiography, ensuring timely booking for routine and urgent outpatients.
Using advanced specialist knowledge to aid the Cardiology Lead to evaluate service development.
Ensure that adequate stock is available to deliver the Echocardiography service.
