Are you a qualified NHS Physiotherapist looking for your next career step? Want to enhance your experience across different patients, care settings and develop as a clinical leader in one of the UK's largest hospital Trusts?
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Specialist Physiotherapist to work within our Specialised Medicine Therapy team based across the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Weston Park Hospital.
As a Specialist Physiotherapist you will be working alongside a team of other Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and support staff, to deliver acute and ongoing care, including early assessment and prevention of deconditioning, urgent respiratory care and supporting plans for timely discharge. Covering a variety of different wards across the hospitals, this is great chance to work with a wide range of patients and develop your experience of different specialties, including Oncology, Haematology, Urology and Infectious Diseases.
Main duties of the job
Throughout your time you'll have the guidance and supervision of our clinical specialists and wider team, to offer you support, help you manage your caseload and complex patients, and help develop your specific area of interest and skills to further your career.
We also offer excellent in-service training programs to support staff to continue with postgraduate training and developing clinical and leadership skills, including developing and delivering education, supervision, mentorship, and service developments. There's also the chance to get involved in service improvement and research projects, new innovations and more. We're also proud to be a friendly, caring, and supportive team, who help each other to manage caseloads, deliver the best for our patients, and enjoy catching up over a social lunch, and the odd bake-off.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team to deliver the best possible care for patients, has excellent communication skills, and ideally has post-registration experience within an acute setting.
Therapy Services provides a number of services over 7 days (including Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays). Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to these rosters as part of their contracted hours.
About us
This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for the maximum period of 18 months. Where there is potential, the secondment/fixed term contract may finish early, or in the first instance, the secondment/fixed term contract may be extended due to the internal/external secondment of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and secondments in relation to the substantive post holder.
Please also note any secondment must first be agreed with your current line manager.
You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. The Trust is a leader in the NHS and research sectors and provides excellent benefits for its staff. This includes a firm commitment to professional development of it's staff together with the provision of an excellent health and well-being support service.
