An exciting Band 6 role has arisen within Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join our expanding Stroke Service to work at Maidstone & Sevenoaks Hospital and in the community setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career and to gain specialist clinical skills, support and supervise others and participate in service development.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be able to work in a fast paced and busy environment, have excellent communication skills and have experience of an acute hospital setting. You will have the opportunity of working within the acute setting on the newly built HASU and ASU as well as the rehab patway in the community and at Sevenoaks.
We strive to provide a friendly and supportive working environment and offer access to in-house training opportunities and external training. We are committed to supporting the education of Occupational Therapy students.

Experience/Knowledge

- Post qualification experience with experience in an acute physical setting
- Evidence of personal and professional development
- Experience of working as part of an occupational therapy team and/or multi disciplinary team
- Experience of working with support workers
- An understanding of common neurological conditions
- In depth knowledge of stroke.
- Application of OT theory in the treatment of medical, orthopaedic and neurological conditions in an inpatient setting
