We are seeking an enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our Paediatric rotational scheme in the following areas ofservices:
Acute/MSK, Pre-school Special Needs & Special Schools, Schools Services (mainstream and special schools)
This post is within the Paediatric Physiotherapy team. This is an experienced rotational post, providing specialist physiotherapy to children and young people (CYP) in a variety of settings. These rotations are preschool special needs/primary special school, mainstream schools/ secondary special schools and acute paediatric inpatients and Musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatients. Each rotation is one-year duration. The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner providing a specialist physiotherapy service to a designated caseload of children with a range of physical and mobility difficulties and Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the specified rotation. A significant proportion of these children will have English as an additional language (EAL). He/she will be expected to manage their own caseload, travelling between community and acute settings and working alongside teaching, medical and nursing staff to ensure specialist therapy programmes and educational plans are in place for children under their care. He/she will be expected to work collaboratively with CYP, parents/carers and colleagues in Health, Education and Social Services in planning and delivery of services.

Recognised Physiotherapy Degree Qualification and Registered Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP)
Health Care Professions Council Licence to Practice
Evidence of CPD including attendance of post graduate short courses relevant to paediatric physiotherapy
Experience
Experience within NHS of post graduate level of working in the following fields: orthopaedics, outpatients, respiratory, neurology, paediatrics
Experience at a postgraduate level:
Skills and Knowledge
Well established knowledge of
Awareness of the differences of a Paediatric versus adult caseload
Good written and spoken English
Excellent interpersonal skills: including observation, listening and empathy skills
Good organisational skills and to prioritise own workload.
Ability to communicate effectively with children and young people of all ages and abilities.

Main duties of the job
- Providing specialist Physiotherapy services children and young people with a variety of conditions within Harrow both in the community and acute settings
- Providing specialist advice, programmes and treatment plans to others regarding the management and care of CYP with physical difficulties
- To provide supervision of the work of band 5 physiotherapists, assistants and volunteers regularly on a day to day basis
