An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative, dynamic individual to join the team responsible for the Community Inpatient Wards in East Berkshire.

Our Rehabilitation Wards provides discharge to assess, medical optimisation, sub-acute medical and rehabilitation care to older patients across the East of Berkshire.

Main duties of the job

  • Clinical - Work autonomously ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and evidenced based practice and actively support colleagues within this field.
  • Professional - development of own advanced nursing skills and specialist knowledge providing mentorship of nursing staff in their skills acquisition. To act as a role model to all staff, demonstrating a high level of patient care, clinical leadership and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Management - Working alongside the ward manager in ensuring patient flow, a safe environment, staff well being and to provide guidance and advice in both basic and complex issues surrounding patient and staff needs.
  • Financial, Performance and Resource Management - Identifying any financial risk relating to providing services and developing partnerships with the Inpatient Services Manager and contributing to strategies in reducing risk associated with this.
  • Service Development - Contribute to the development of the service ensuring mechanisms are in place to involve staff, stakeholders and service users.

  • 1st Level current NMC registration (RGN or RN (adult)
  • Leadership/ management qualification, or willing to complete
  • Previous experience at band 6 working within a ward environment

  • Clinical Qualification with current NMC registration
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
