Our Participation and Experience team support the engagement of service users, families and carers in all aspects of services, both at an individual and service-wide level. We are looking for candidates who have a real interest in service user and family experience and be recovery focussed in your approach.
The team has been increasing its focus on developing a more structured approach to service user, family and carer participation through the evolving Expert By Experience programme. We will be continuing to develop this programme and the EBE training that we currently provide and work towards developing a robust pathway of experience and learning for our service users, families and carers.
Within our Secure and Complex Care services we are now looking to implement our Recovery College provision to our inpatient service users in order to ensure that they have equal access to this service and provide them with learning opportunities to support their recovery journey.
A further key feature of our service is to thread specific family and carer engagement work throughout all team roles rather than one, individual role, thus increasing the visibility and drive to improve the experience of families and carers across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Working within a secure and complex care setting.
The post holder will work with clinical, corporate and operational colleagues to improve the experiences of and support to service users, families and carers by ensuring that the participation of service users, families and carers takes place at every level within the organisation.
The post holder will support the implementation and monitor progress against key milestones of the Trust Strategy, Experts by Experience Programme and Family and Carer Strategy, as well as contributing to the Recovery for All agenda. They will also be expected to lead on the Experts by Experience Programme within a specific division. Working with the Recovery Improvement Lead, they will also be responsible for the implementation of the Recovery College programme within secure care, including monitoring and evaluation.
The post holder will also ensure that the participation and experience workers that the post holder line manages contribute fully to their division
