You will be joining a dynamic, busy, and successful service and multi-disciplinary team within CYPS Community Team Northeast Hampshire (formally known as CAMHS Aldershot) for three days per week. We are a very reflective and supportive team ensuring we put the young people and families at the heart of what we do.
This post is suitable for a newly qualified Specialist Family & Systemic Psychotherapist. The successful applicant would have experience in the assessment and treatment of children and young people with mental health issues.
To provide timely assessment of children and young people who are referred to CYPS Community Team Northeast Hampshire and provide care planning and support for their care and create individualised treatment plans.
Deliver on the following key area and lead team functioning with particular focus on the following areas:
Main duties of the job
To provide a specialist systemic assessment of clients referred to the team incorporating complex information from other professionals. To make decisions about treatment options taking into account evidence based research, theory, practice and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes which have impacted on the child and their family.
To provide highly specialist short or long term systemic therapy for children/adolescents with severe, complex and persistent mental health problems, for parents/carers who may be vulnerable, for families who may have complex and persistent problems, for children/adolescents and their parents. To work in ways which are sensitive to and appropriate for the needs of families from a wide range of racial, cultural and religious backgrounds.
To provide specialist systemic consultation, advice, support and guidance to other professionals working in the service in order to maintain high standards of work with children. To make SFT theory and practice accessible to clinicians and other staff members in the team.
