An exciting opportunity has arisen as Senior Occupational Health Physiotherapist at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Working with the Head of Occupational Health and the wider OH multidisciplinary team you will manage, plan and develop the Occupational Health Physiotherapy Service for the 15,000 OUH NHS Staff.

As the lead for a small Staff Physiotherapy Team you will provide highly specialised Occupational Health Physiotherapy service for a diverse range of clinical conditions and client roles in a variety of environments across OUH.

Main duties of the job

Provide expert advice to the multidisciplinary COHWB team and Line Managers regarding individuals' fitness to work, provide workplace ergonomic advice to prevent/reduce risk of musculoskeletal injury to staff.

Manage the day-to-day organisation of the workload for the Occupational Health Physiotherapy Service.

Provide MSK risk awareness training to staff and managers- clinical and non-clinical

Provide ergonomic advice re: equipment provision in relation to MSK conditions.

Evaluate and develop the Occupational Health Physiotherapy Service in order to meet the objectives of the COHWB team and corporate objectives.

Review/evaluate MSK data relating to long- and short-term sickness absence

Provide relevant MSK advice on the COHWB intranet site

Identify clinical research, audit and data collection priorities within area of expertise to drive clinical development strategy.

Comply with OUH policies in addition to complying with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Standards and Code of Conduct.

Assist in the development and implementation of service changes.

Key responsibilities of the service: -

Provision of highly specialised Occupational Health physiotherapy care for a diverse range of clinical conditions and patient types in a variety of environments across OUH

Provide highly specialist advice to General Practitioners, Occupational Health practitioners and Division managers on employee fitness for work and occupational issues related to employee musculoskeletal health.

Provide easy and early access to physiotherapy advice, assessment, treatment and management programmes for staff with a diverse range of musculoskeletal problems.

Provide health education and contribute to health promotion programmes.

Enable appropriate, safe and early return to work of employees while reducing the risk of musculoskeletal injury.

Highlight and manage areas of musculoskeletal risk within the Division through identification, work site assessment and risk reducing recommendation strategies.

Evaluate and audit the service.

Manage, plan and develop the Occupational Health Physiotherapy Service

Development, implementation and management of a Clinical Governance Strategy through clinical audit and effective use of outcome measures.

Person Specification

Essential

Essential

  • oSRP, Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
  • oHealth Professions Council (HPC) Registration.
  • oHighly developed specialist knowledge gained through a minimum 7 years post qualification experience with 3 years specialist out patients or occupational health experience. This should be to master's level or be supported by evidence of advanced study/practice
  • oEvidence of continuing professional development including attendance at recent post-graduate course(s) relevant to the clinical field.


Desirable

  • oPost-graduate course(s) in Occupational Health and Ergonomics.
  • oMember of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (ACPOHE).
