We are offering an exciting opportunity to join HDFT's Safeguarding Children's Team to support in Hartlepool's and Stockton's Children's Hub
Are you a Registered Nurse with experience of working with vulnerable children and young people in the community?
If you are successful, you will receive a comprehensive preceptorship package to further develop your skills and ongoing training and support is available.
As a Safeguarding Nurse within the Hartlepool and Stockton Children's Hub the post holder will have a key role in the delivery of the Multi Agency Safeguarding function whilst contributing to the wider HDFT Safeguarding Children Team. The post holder will work as part of a multi-agency integrated team contributing their expertise to the safeguarding case management discussions within the Chub. This includes gathering and collating relevant health information for children and helping identify those services which are best placed to support the children, adults and families concerned.

You will need excellent communication skills and a passion for public health, alongside good organisational skills, flexibility to meet the needs of the service, and ability to travel independently to meet service delivery as required.
The applicant will need to demonstrate strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to delegate and supervise staff, as well as the ability to recognise and escalate risk and contribute to control measures.
Experience of working with children and young people with complex health and social needs in the community would be an advantage.
You must possess a full UK driving licence and have access to your own transport in order to meet service needs.

- To gather relevant and proportionate 0-19 health information
- To support interagency decision making with partner agencies, providing specialist health knowledge and analysis of risk when advising on interventions for individual children and young people.
- To contribute to multiagency decision making based on a shared understanding of risk.
- Offer appropriate challenge to partner agencies, as necessary, based on all available information to secure appropriate outcomes for the child.
- To take forward any daily actions delegated by the Specialist Nurse for Child Protection such as informing 0-19 practitioners of safety issues and to record these in the child's electronic record.
- Where appropriate liaise with other Safeguarding Teams to ensure relevant and proportionate information is available to those working with the children and families
- To support the Specialist Nurse Child protection with audit to gather any themes and support with identifying learning.
- Undertake any other Safeguarding duties as directed by the Specialist Nurse Child Protection, Named Nurse or Head of Safeguarding

- Post registration qualification in Health Visiting or School Nursing degree or equivalent experience with a wide range of child protection experience
