We are a friendly team, comprising of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Assistant Therapy Practitioners and Rehabilitation Assistants.
We are looking for someone who wants to work within a motivated and enthusiastic team providing specialised stroke and neurological inpatient rehabilitation. You will work closely with the Clinical Specialist Neurological Occupational Therapist and link with the network of stroke and neuro specialist physiotherapists across Powys. The applicant would be part of a Powys wide neuro specialist multidisciplinary team including a Consultant Therapist for Stroke and Neurorehabilitation, who are responsible for identifying, developing and delivering continuous service improvements in the Stroke and neurological Conditions Delivery Plans.
You will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, a flexible approach to work and negotiation skills to motivate patients and staff to deliver high standards of care.

This post may be offered under Annex 21 AfC Terms and conditions, subject to experience, competency and suitability.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a specialist OT Service within a designated area for Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB), responsible for:
Managing a caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan implement and evaluate interventions.
Provide leadership for junior staff through supervision and appraisal.
Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated area/team, holding responsibility for defined projects.
Contribute to the maintenance and development of Powys Teaching Health Board Occupational Therapy Service.
Regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements.
Deputise for Team Leader when necessary.
Work flexible across locality and participate in the 7-day rota to meet the service needs.
Provide cover in other areas/specialities as appropriate and within competencies.
Provide a flexible service in locations most appropriate to patient's needsAllocate work to support staff, at all times monitoring their skills and competencies.
