The CYP Autism Intensive Support Service provides support to children, young people and families/carers by delivering a co-ordinated, person-centred and outcome-focused approach to planning and supporting autistic children, young people and families/carers who require additional and sometimes complex support, which includes children and young people's mental health services.
The Band 6 role for the CYP Autism Intensive Support Service is a clinical role. We are hoping to welcome applicants with backgrounds that include Children's Complex Care /Allied Health Professionals /Learning Disability Nurse in order to create a well-rounded team with a plethora of expertise.
Applicants should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well autonomously and well as part of a team.

Main duties of the job
As part of the leadership team, the post holder will be responsible for providing expert support, advice and clinical leadership to a 4 - 18 years Autism Service to offer an enhanced model of support to the wider mainstream education, health and social care services within Lancashire and South Cumbria. To promote and support good access to mainstream health care for those with autism, the reduction of health inequalities and premature mortality, and the delivery of specialist of health care interventions for this group of people.
As Team Leader the post holder will support the operational aspects of service delivery and report directly to the Service Manager. These include helping to manage budgets, recruitment, staff management (rosters, sickness, leave etc), developing Standard Operating Procedures, managing risk and other operational tasks.
The role includes a clinical & professional component also, the Team Leader will clinically support the staff in the team providing supervision and guidance as appropriate and carrying a reduced caseload to reflect the joint Operational and Clinical nature of the role.
