Band 6 In-patient Pain nurse 26.25 hours per week
To work under the guidance of the Pain Management Team in the provision of an efficient and effective pain service throughout the Trust. The Pain management Nurse will support and empower all healthcare workers and patients, by providing specialist knowledge and advice on acute chronic pain management issues. This will involve the assessment and treatment of patients with acute pain and acute exacerbations of chronic pain in the clinical area.
Cross Site working may be involved. Can be discussed further at interview.
Main duties of the job
To ensure a high standard of in-patient pain management is delivered by the nursing team through the provision of evidence based practice.
To supervise junior staff and participate in teaching and assessing of both qualified and unqualified staff, including students, within the field of in-patient pain management.
Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues in the development of services, and improve quality of care delivered within the in-patient pain management service.
Establish and maintain effective communication links which will empower patients and carers / relatives, and professionals, to make informed decisions across health and social services.
Maintain a high profile in clinical areas acting as role model for other health care professionals.
