An exciting, new opportunity has arisen within the Queen Elizabeth Emergency Department. The Emergency Department Clinical Education Team is hiring, and we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and clinically competent practitioners to join the team. The post holder will work in collaboration with healthcare colleagues and educators to ensure the clinical education and development needs of the Non-Medical Practitioner workforce are identified and addressed using approved, proven and credible methods. They will be a visible role model, providing clinical support and practical guidance to clinical teams and departments as well as providing pastoral support for staff when required. All applicants should have a genuine interest in the education and development of staff within the Emergency Department whilst also ensuring their own clinical credibility through continuing professional development. Right from the time you join us, you'll have access to learning, development and training opportunities to aid you with your transition. UHB is a great place to work, offering a working environment with an inclusive culture that looks after and values our people and creates a sense of belonging. We encourage applications from people who embrace our values and who will enable us to expand our diverse workforce.
Main duties of the job

- Co-ordinate and deliver high-quality education using lectures, simulation, study days and shop-floor teaching to upskill the Emergency Department workforce. This will include providing support to new starters and preceptors during their first few months in the department. The post holder will be required to provide pastoral support to staff.
- Communicate effectively, work well within a team and be able to use their initiative to make decisions. They must be willing to continue their own professional development by attending relevant courses, conferences or study days that will aid them in educating other staff members.
- Ensure consistently high standards of care are being met by providing a practical, flexible & immediate response to unforeseen educational issues in clinical areas to minimise clinical risks
- Keep and maintain accurate training records as evidence of education provided to staff by providing regular updates to senior colleagues as required.
