We have an opportunity to work as a key member of the People & Organisational Effectiveness leadership team, the role comes with scope to shape, develop and have significant impact across two provider organisations.
The Head of Employee Relations is part of the Peoples Services and Organisational Effectiveness Leadership team, employed by Derbyshire Community Health Services and providing both an internal service to our community trust and to our partner mental health trust at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Good staff partnership working is a very important part of the culture in both organisations and is a significant requirement, including attendance and contribution in formal committees. Strong ER expertise is clearly essential, along with excellent working knowledge of the various NHS terms and conditions of service, and the ability to develop and influence others, both inside and outside of the standard management route.
We are a CQC outstanding trust with excellent staff survey results and pride ourselves on our welcoming and inclusive culture. We are part of the wider Joined Up Care Derbyshire and always looking for opportunities to develop our system approach and system thinking.

Main duties of the job
The biggest focus of the role is delivering quality through continuous service improvement, including helping to shape organisational culture, improve management and leadership capabilities and keep on eye on efficiency and developing practice.
There is a busy agenda and no two days are the same so you will need to have high motivation and inspire similar in others but you will be well supported to succeed.

Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.
We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people's own homes and via virtual consultations.
