We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed individual to join a well-established and supportive multi-disciplinary team.

The Lancashire Early Intervention Service (EIS) specialises in working with individuals aged 14 to 65 at risk of, or currently experiencing, first episode psychosis. Our team provides a range of specialist interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Family Interventions in line with current NICE guidance. There are three multi-disciplinary early intervention service teams covering the Lancashire footprint.

The Lancashire Early Intervention Service is based within the Children and Families Network of Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. We enjoy close working links with a range of community and inpatient services for children and adults.

We place a strong emphasis on professional and clinical supervision in order to support and develop individuals as part of our commitment to maintain our focus on delivering the highest quality clinical service.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of this team. We currently have a permanent post available for a Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to join the team. The post will provide an opportunity for development for those who are interested in working within the Early Intervention Service.

The successful applicant will work as part of the EIS East Lancashire Team, who are currently based at The Mount, Whalley Road, Accrington, Lancs.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential

  • First Level Professional Qualification (RMN/SW/OT)
  • Evidence of accredited learning at Degree level 6 or above that is relative to practice
  • On-going registration with professional body


Knowledge

Essential

  • Can demonstrate an in depth knowledge of mental health conditions, specifically psychosis and their recommended treatments
  • Can demonstrate specialist knowledge within their professional area of patient/ client care
  • Knowledge of policy drivers for EIS


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of using and understanding structured psychometric assessments and interpretation of these
  • Experience in mentorship
  • Experience of supervising other qualified staff


Skills

Essential

  • Excellent and developed skills in thorough assessment of a variety of mental health presentations
  • Demonstrate excellent intervention and de-escalation skills
  • Capacity to assertively present views in group settings and confidently debate and challenge views and opinions of others appropriately and professionally
