A vacancy has arisen for a Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our team in the Blood Sciences department at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital, which forms part of the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology Network.
We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic Biomedical Scientists with a flexible approach to work.
The posts are covering 37.5 hours over a 7 day working week. Participation in the out of hours service is an essential requirement, once deemed competent in all relevant areas. The OOH service is provided over 24/7, 365 days covering both the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospital sites.
Applicants must possess an IBMS accredited degree in Biomedical Sciences, have relevant experience in Clinical Chemistry, and hold current registration with the HCPC (Band 5/Band 6 BMS). Ideally, candidates will have completed the IBMS specialist portfolio (Band 6 BMS) or be ready for assessment.
We will also consider applicants without specialist portfolio or extensive experience if no suitable band 6 level applications are received. In these circumstances, we would appoint to AFC band 5, pay scale for applicants who are imminently about to obtain HCPC registration.
