We have an exciting opportunity for a job share - Safeguarding Adults Lead and Prevent, and we are welcoming applications from suitably qualified staff who are passionate and motivated to make a difference to our most vulnerable adults and families.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide leadership for Oxleas safeguarding adult and Prevent policies and procedures including assurance that the trust is compliant with all statutory requirements under legislation.
The post holder will have a key responsibility for the coordination, management, implementation and monitoring of the trust's strategy for safeguarding adults.
The post holder will monitor safeguarding adult activity, developing robust consistent safeguarding practice in line with best practice and statutory requirements.
The post holder will provide expert advice, supervision and support on safeguarding adult matters, working together with liaising with key professionals and partner agencies.
The post holder will actively contribute towards the quality and assurance agenda including training, audit, collection and analysis of relevant data.
The post holder will contribute to Safeguarding children practice reviews, Domestic homicide reviews, Safeguarding Adult reviews, Learning reviews and Serious incident investigations.
The post holder will work in close partnership with external stakeholders towards ensuring effective safeguarding arrangements.
The post holder will lead and have line management responsibility for Specialist safeguarding nurses/ practitioners.

- To provide clinical leadership and expert advice and support on safeguarding children to all Oxleas staff
- To ensure that staff are fully aware of their statutory responsibilities to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk
- To ensure the delivery of the safeguarding children service locally and assist the Head of safeguarding to ensure provision across the trust
- To contribute to Safeguarding children practice reviews, Domestic homicide reviews, Safeguarding adult reviews and other types of reviews including investigating and writing the Individual Management Reviews for the Trust
- To provide safeguarding children specialist advice and support to the investigation of serious incidents, internal case reviews and any complaints
- To ensure that all local recommendations are fed into service action plans and that learning is embedded in practice
- To provide advice and support to staff where there are professional differences of opinion in multi-agency decision making about children and families and to support with escalation process
- To recognise and support managers in identifying any competency issues practitioners have in relation to safeguarding work
- To develop and promote collaborative interagency working on all issues relating to safeguarding children and young people and overall safeguarding practice
- To work in close liaison with senior colleagues in partner agencies including Designated safeguarding professionals, Named doctors and Safeguarding champions
- To identify opportunities for service development and develop business plans
