An exciting band 7 clinical leadership opportunity has arisen for a HCPC or NMC registered professional, Paediatric Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy, Paediatric Speech & Language Therapy, Health Visitor or Child Development/Specialist Play, with extensive experience with children under 5 with developmental delay and complex conditions.

At this time of clinical innovation and change this is an opportunity to work with other clinical teams to achieve a robust and balanced offer for under 5s with SEND and their families.

The successful candidate would need to be prepared to work at all 3 Worcestershire Child Development Centres as appropriate and travel to deliver care to Worcestershire children within their homes.

The successful candidate will have support from the senior management team but will need to be able to make management and clinical decisions with autonomy, guided by trust policies.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will lead the Child Development and Specialist Play teams within the Children, Young People & Families Service Delivery Unit. They will need extensive experience of working with children with developmental delay and complex conditions and be able to demonstrate a highly advanced understanding of holistic child development in the early years and the wider system of SEND support.

Their clinical leadership skills will be key as they will be at the forefront of implementing new initiatives as part of the service review and transformation. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure clinical quality and outcomes of intervention. Experience of quality improvement, audit or research will be invaluable in supporting this change.

The Child Development and Specialist Play services work with babies and pre-school children with significant development delay or a known medical condition/diagnosis who require a specialist approach. This role will involve the operational management of the teams including line management, triage, clinical supervision and management of the 3 child development centre sites.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy/ OT/SLT/Nursing
  • Professional registration
  • Post graduate course relevant to paediatrics
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer

  • Evidence of appropriate paediatric training
  • Management training course


Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience
