This is a wonderful opportunity for a Registered Occupational Therapist to join a high performing, successful team with a great reputation. During a recent CQC visit our patients and families felt overwhelmingly positive about the care we provide at Syrena House.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic OT to join our team at Syrena House, this role would initially be 15 hours based across 3 days. We are a 9 bedded male in patient recovery unit based in Plymstock.
If you have a passion for promoting recovery focussed interventions and supporting people to reach their optimum level of functioning then this might be the post for you. We are hoping to increase our OT provision at Syrena and we are the beginning of transforming our service.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the overall provision of Occupational Therapy through assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of treatment programmes to patients in Syrena House. This can be on an individual or group basis.
To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team, maintaining good clinical records and attending any relevant meetings.
To carry out group and individual sessions using a range of treatment techniques within the areas of cognitive and psychological functioning, physical functioning, personal independence, domestic, social, creative and recreational skills and educational/vocational needs as necessary.
To be involved in looking at move on accommodation and other community resources appropriate to patients needs.
To be responsible for the planning and review of Occupational Therapy programmes within the unit.
Contribute, and be part of the transformation of our service and continue to provide a safe, effective and caring recovery environment for our patients.

To maintain standards of practice in accordance with the Occupational

To participate in the Trust Managerial Appraisal systems.
To initiate and maintain clinical governance activities within the clinical area.

To represent the Occupational Therapy department or Syrena on working groups and other meetings as required.
To attend relevant professional meetings.
To oversee Preceptorship for Junior Band 5 at Syrena when appropriate.
To provide clinical/professional supervision for junior staff.

To ensure that personal professional development continues in keeping with job and personal requirements.
