The ESHT Rehabilitation strategy is focused on improving the quality and performance of our acute and community services to deliver high quality rehabilitation across East Sussex. This is a dynamic and changing environment, and the strategy is working to support our staff, teams and the organisation as a whole to make meaningful changes that bring about improvements in rehabilitation for the benefit of our population.
Our intermediate care service is dedicated in supporting the delivery of high-quality rehabilitation. The Specialist Speech and Language Therapist within our rehabilitation units at Bexhill Irvine Unit and Rye Memorial Hospital, is key in supporting our dynamic nursing and therapy workforce to achieve a 24-hour rehabilitation approach to patient care.

Qualifications
Essential
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
- Health Professions Council - Licence to Practice
- Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Completion of specialist short courses in adult acquired neurology to include: Post graduate basic dysphagia
Experience
Essential
- Relevant experience at undergraduate/post graduate level
- To have worked under the supervision of a clinical specialist
- Experience of training other professionals
Desirable
- Experience of multi/interdisciplinary working
- Experience of using client-centred goals
