An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Legal Services Team at Swansea Bay Health Board as a Deputy Legal Services Manager.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, driven and patient-focussed individuals who can manage a complex Claims and Inquest caseload.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply
Main duties of the job
The primary purpose of the Deputy Legal Services Manager post is to support the Legal Services Manager in ensuring that the Health Board is fully compliant with the Civil Procedure Rules 1998, The National Health (Concerns, Complaints and Redress Arrangements) (Wales) Regulations 2011, regulations and The Coroners and Justice Act 2009 ensuring opportunities for learning is identified across the Health Board.
The post holder will be responsible for management of a large, complex and higher value claims caseload as well as an inquest case load on a day-to-day basis at Swansea Bay University Health Board. The post holder will be responsible for managerial tasks and functions to support the management of such processes.
The post holder will be responsible for line management of a small number of staff within the team.

- oLaw degree (or equivalent) oManagement qualification (ILM, NVQ etc.) or demonstrable experience of managing a team. oSignificant experience in concerns claims law or related subjects oSpecialist knowledge of relevant procedures and guidelines including NHS Redress (Putting things Right), Civil Procedure Rules, and the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 oSpecialist knowledge of clinical governance and risk management

- oExperience in an administrative or customer service based environment oExperience of conflict resolution and dealing with difficult situations oConfidence in dealing with a number of parties including public, family and senior colleagues oAbility to deal with sensitive and sympathetic situations oExperience of writing concise and formal reports/memorandums oAbility to monitor and review performance against targets oAble to effectively maintain and manage a large and often demanding case load
