An exciting opportunity exists for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the established CLCH Adult Learning Disability Service spanning the London boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster. The multidisciplinary health service works within an integrated health and social care setting across many sites.
The successful applicant will hold a clinical caseload and be expected to carry out assessment and treatment to help address the functional needs of people with LD within the clinical, community and domicillary setting.
The postholder will report to the Highly Specialist Occupational Therapy Lead and work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to continually develop the service and maintain close working relationships with partners across health and social care.
If you enjoy working in a close MDT environment using a variety of assessment and treatment techniques and approaches then this is the job for you. We offer great opportunities for training, various project work, quality improvement and clinical audit intiatives to support you in your career progression.
Main duties of the job
We require an organised, flexible and approachable OT with experience working in the Learning Disability environment, who can demonstrate good communication and team-working skills.
You will be required to carry out comprehensive, timely and effective assessment and treatment to support service user skills development and participation in purposeful activities.
Experience working within the paediatric, neuro-disability or mental health setting(s) would also be an advantage. The ability to work autonomously in a multidisciplinary Learning Disability team, work co-operatively with partners and contribute to the service development is essential. The postholder will have access to regular supervision from an experienced Band 7 therapist, as well as support from the wider CLCH Learning Disabilities Team.
