Exciting opportunity for a Band 6 service manager to join the growing Gastroenterology and Endoscopy team at Heartlands and Solihull Hospitals, which sits in the department of CDG2. We are a flexible team and would encourage applicants to apply for this fantastic development opportunity. As a JAG accredited centre, and one of the largest trusts in the country, we offer a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for all gastroenterological conditions. The Heartlands endoscopy unit has 6 procedure rooms in HTC, with a further 2 rooms at Solihull hospital. This role focuses on the capacity of the service ensuring all procedural lists have an assigned clinician. The post holder will work closely within the triumvirate, alongside the wider CDG2 site team. Main duties of the job
The overall activities of the post-holder will include:
*To monitor performance against activity targets and other service objectives
*To ensure that all national and locally agreed waiting times and booking targets are understood and met. With particular emphasis on ensuring a maximum 18-week median wait from referral to commencement of definitive treatment with overall responsibility for the validation process in the department
*To produce reports from software systems for all aspects of patient pathways, including cancer waits, RTT, Outpatient, diagnostics etc, analyse and develop action plans where improvement is needed
*You will be responsible for monitoring capacity, clinical workloads (e.g. outpatient clinics, etc) and waiting lists and will be required to report any potential shortfalls in capacity early to the Operations Manager and to assist in resolving operational issues affecting capacity or demand working with colleagues across other services as required
*To ensure there are robust waiting list processes in place for the management of 18 week and Cancer PTL's
*To work with clinical staff and staff in the service to ensure that patient activity is recorded accurately on the PAS.
*To support the Operations Manager in ensuring effective administrative organisational arrangements are in place.
*Responsible for the reallocation of work ensuring urgent tasks are completed within designated time scales, frequently auditing to ensure standards are met
