We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated Nurse who works well in a multi-disciplinary team environment. We seek to maintain high standards of care for our patients and are looking for someone who will enhance our department.

Skills & Experience
  • Registered Nurse or Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and in sensitive and challenging situations.

Main duties of the job

  • Undertake all activities in a professional and proficient manner, including mandatory surgical checks prior to the start of the procedure, during and pre wound closure.
  • Carry out scrub duties according to policies and procedures, contributing to quality improvement, and promoting best evidence based practice.
  • Assemble, check, prepare, and coordinate the use of surgical equipment, drugs and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures.
  • Act in the circulating role, and promote a patient focused approach to care in collaboration with all relevant healthcare professionals.

Our Theatre Practitioners work towards providing high quality patient care within the perioperative setting. We welcome both experience and non-experience staff to join our supportive team. Training can also be provided to support newly registered practitioners and to those who are looking for a new career direction.

For our successful candidates, we will aid you in the development of your career, and in order to enable this we have a dedicated Practice Development Team to support you. The Trust also provides many other In-house learning opportunities to support your developmental needs.

Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receivea full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
