This is an unusual and exciting opportunity for an experienced community CAMHS clinician
to continue the development of the service we offer to Bowden House a specialist residential school for boys aged 9-16 with complex behavioural issues in Seaford, East Sussex. This post offers a chance to develop innovative and flexible ways of working away from the clinic environment.
The successful applicant to this post will be based for 4 days per week (during term-time) at Bowden House School, an 'OFSTED Outstanding' specialist weekly residential school for boys aged 9-16 with complex behavioural issues in Seaford, East Sussex.
The other 1 day per week will be spent in Tower Hamlets CAMHS at Greatorex Street, where they will be part of a multidisciplinary team offering goal-based episodes of care to young people, children and families presenting with a variety of challenges. The Tower Hamlets connections have been flexible due to Covid restrictions.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for good communicators with energy, motivation and enthusiasm; the ability to work with individuals and families with complex difficulties and to work effectively with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency contexts; flexibility of approach; commitment to evidence-based practice; and, the pursuit of the highest possible quality of service.
It is also important that you have experience of providing consultation to school staff and of multi-agency working. We understand that we need to approach working hours issue during school holidays flexibly and creatively, and this include flexitime/compressed hours and working from home to minimise the amount of time spent commuting.

Person Specification Education, Training and Qualifications Essential
- A qualification and professional registration in Clinical Psychology, Family Therapy, Child Psychotherapy, Nursing or other equivalent profession
- Clinical Psychology: Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996)
- Registration with HPC
- Family Therapy: Qualification in appropriate mental health/social welfare profession such as Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or Nursing
- Masters or Doctoral level qualification in Systemic Psychotherapy or AFT agreed equivalent
- UKCP Registered
- Child Psychotherapy: Honours degree. Postgraduate Diploma/MA in Psychoanalytical Observational Studies or recognised equivalent. Masters in Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy: Child and Adolescent
- Registered member of ACP
- Nursing: Mental Health Nurse Level 1 (RN3, RNMH in sub part 1 of the NMC Register) ENB 998 or equivalent
