We are committed to your continued professional development and provide a structured in service training programme alongside a directed training package for each rotation. Your development will be overseen by experienced Band 7 therapists many of whom are specialists in their field.

- The senior physiotherapist is an experienced clinician who carries and independently manages a full clinical caseload. They are responsible for supervising designated members of staff within the specialist team.
- In conjunction with the Team Lead, the post holder participates in a rolling programme of education, clinical evaluation, audit and research across the speciality.
- The post holder may be required to work at any of the sites within the Trust.
- To fully participate in whatever pattern of working is required by the service in the future.
- Once deemed competent the post holder will be required to work at weekends as part of a weekend rota.
- A band 5 to 6 development programme will be considered for individuals who have the right experience.
Main duties of the job
Current Band 6 Physiotherapy 9 month rotations include:
- Respiratory (Critical Care, medical and surgical wards)
- Orthopaedics (trauma & elective)
- Acute Stroke and Neurology
- Front of House (Emergency Department and medical assessment wards)
You will be expected:
- To undertake all aspects of clinical duties and to carry a significant caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner, including those with complex presentations
- To work at an enhanced level and be professionally and legally accountable for a specialised patient caseload, and decide priorities for own work area, without direct supervision.
- To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of work, and the work of staff under the post holder's supervision. This will include management of clinical risk and clinical governance.
- Be responsible for maintaining own competency to practice through CPD activities and a CPD portfolio.
- To facilitate implementation and evaluation of physiotherapy clinical outcomes within a designated pathway and monitor adherence with professional and national standards.

- Degree or equivalent diploma in Physiotherapy
- Registered with the HCPC
- Undertaken a range of relevant postgraduate courses
- Undertaken clinical educators course

- Wide range of experience at band 5 in different specialities
