If so, this post will be ideal for you!

This post will allow you to experience a variety of areas for a period of 18 months and rotate to an alternative area within Older People's Services. This will include organic and functional areas, as well as CMHT, DRRT and OA Crisis Services.

You will have the opportunity to rotate, depending on area, across a range of our services and complete our preceptorship programme (if you are a newly-qualified nurse).

The successful candidate can expect to work within a friendly, professional and committed team, receive regular supervision and have plenty of training opportunities.

Following the rotation, you will be allowed to apply for a substantive position within the area of your choice.

Main duties of the job

We currently have vacancies on the rotation in:
  • Cubley Court (Older Adult Organic inpatient's) *
  • Tissington (Older Adult Functional inpatient's) *
  • In-Reach and Home Treatment team (Older Adult Functional Crisis response team) *
  • Dementia Rapid Response Team (Older Adult Urgent and Crisis team) *
  • Older Adult Day Services - Insight days with Memory Assessment Services
  • CMHTs

* In these areas you will be required to contribute to a 7-day extended hour service.

As a Registered Mental Health nurse, you will be clinically responsible for supporting the delivery of a flexible, responsive local service within a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), Inpatient wards, Day Services, DRRT and IRHTT.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues, key partners and those within the local community to develop services to meet the mental health needs of the community.

The post holder will communicate with people with a range of mental health needs, to provide and receive complex, sensitive information to people where there are barriers to understanding.

You will employ a wide range of skills, building on and developing their expertise and actively seeking advice and collaboration with issues which may not be readily within their sphere of competence.

As a registered practitioner you are professionally and legally accountable under the NMC code of professional practice.

You will manage a diverse caseload and work closely with the multi disciplinary team.

Involvement in service development and quality improvement projects as we develop pathways across the organisation, build links with our partnership organisations in the community, and grow our peer support services.

You will be involved in recruitment and development of our support staff.

Youll be part of the wider Community in Derbyshire Healthcare, contributing to CPD events, practice development opportunities and workforce development.

Knowledge / Experience Essential
  • Demonstrable understanding of mental health disorders and treatment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of legislation relevant to mental health.
  • Awareness of nursing assessments and interventions and outcome measures relevant to client group.
  • Evidence of service receiver and carer involvement activities.
