The successful applicant will work within the primary care team at HMP Wymott, assisting in the overall delivery of care to patients. Our patients can present with a wide range of conditions/ illnesses, from minor ailments to requiring emergency care, which allows opportunity for nurses to develop and enhance their clinical skills. Staff will be supported through supervision, learning events and training, both internally and within the wider Trust.
The primary care team work within the healthcare centre at HMP Wymott, which also includes a mental health, substance misuse and pharmacy team. Within the wider prison, we work alongside a number of other disciplines/ agencies, including prison officers, probation officers and education staff.
Healthcare services operate 7 days per week, 24 hours a day, therefore, a flexible approach is required. The ideal candidate would be motivated, resilient and dedicated to providing excellent patient care. The role is suitable for those without prison experience and newly qualified nurses, as full training, preceptorship packages and support will be given.

Risk assessment
Providing care and treatment for a range of conditions/ ailments, including emergency care
Multidisciplinary working
Liaison with community services
Health promotion
Administration of medication
