Main duties of the job
Supported by the Operational Lead Nurse for Safeguarding Children to develop and promote a robust safeguarding culture across the Trust.
Ensuring that the Trust safeguarding arrangements are in line with best practice, legislation, and comply with regulatory and commissioning requirements.
The Senior Safeguarding Nurse will contribute to the safeguarding agenda through the provision of evidence based safeguarding practice, advice, support, supervision and training for all disciplines of staff across all trust sites.
Key responsibilities to further the Think Family and Safeguarding young people agenda in adult based services across the Trust

- oAdvanced knowledge of the legislation, statutory guidance and best practice for child safeguarding and child protection processes
- oCurrent experience of working with children/young people
- oProven communication and influencing skills
- oStrong ability using a variety of Information technology systems, including Microsoft word, Excel spreadsheets, TEAMS and other systems to support team activity and data collection and analysis
- oSkilled with using creative approaches for providing staff supervision and support
- oExperience of developing other staff/junior staff and supporting their practice from
- oExperience of representing the child's voice in decision making processes
- oExperience of working in a multidisciplinary team and with multiagency approaches
- oExcellent knowledge of current local and national safeguarding issues for children
