We are seeking a highly experienced nurse with strong professional skills, knowledge and values to professionally lead our nurses and provide a CAMHS Quality lead role. This is a key position in CAMHS, with the opportunity to make a difference from the point of direct care to children through to board level, advocating for and supporting the nursing team through out. You will join us at an exciting time of service transformation as we strive to develop and enhance our offer to give children the best possible outcomes.

Key elements of the role include:
  • Professional Lead for Nursing across the CAMHS teams of Gloucestershire, which accept referrals from a wide range of multi-agency partners.
  • Quality Lead role to support the CAMHS quality agenda, including quality improvement, safeguarding assurance & oversight, clinical practice assurance & oversight
  • Provide clinical input and expertise within cross county CAMHS Clinics regarding specific disorders as part of routine job plan.
  • Being a member of a CAMHS service with strong values that actively works to promote the wellbeing of our staff team and sustain a positive culture

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory training and post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Professional Nursing qualification: RNLD, RMHN, Demonstrate current registration with a regulated professional body/ organisation: NMC,
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent
  • Recognised management qualification or equivalent experience
  • Recognised formal post graduate qualification within a relevant setting
Length and / or Nature of Experience Essential
  • Significant clinical leadership experience & expertise within CAMHS/NHS setting including clinical based planning, negotiation, decision making, delivery and evaluation.
  • Proven track record of undertaking a leadership role within nursing and/or CAMHS with emphasis upon clinical accountability, leadership, management of change and performance.
  • Experience of planning and interpreting a range of policy development, including a robust understanding of strategic and business planning processes.
  • Significant clinical experience and expertise of working as registered Nurse t within a CAMHS/NHS setting
  • Experience of integrating children & young peoples participation in service development and hearing their Voice
  • Experience of annual NHS business planning cycle.
  • Expertise and high level of clinical knowledge regarding understanding and application of Safeguarding & Child Protection responsibilities and procedures within Gloucestershire.
Professional/Managerial/Specialist Knowledge Essential
  • Previous clinical leadership position including experience of supervising nursing staff
  • Significant experience in promoting and role modelling core nursing values
  • Evidence of leading innovation, and/or transformation change/strategic planning within operational practice.
  • Experience of holding a lead role within change management in clinical practice.
  • Expertise regarding facilitating collaborative working and joint planning across multidisciplinary as well as multi -agency boundaries.
  • Significant experience in developing and implementing CAMHS/NHS based guidelines and standards.
Desirable
  • Experience of financial and budget management including contributing to annual cost improvement planning
Personal Skills Abilities & Attributes Essential
  • Expertise regarding clinical leadership and how to motivate colleagues and staff to produce work of high quality at an operational and strategic level.
  • Expertise in analysing current issues and produce creative/innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrate ability to be a supportive & compassionate leader who both invests and prioritising the clinical & personal development of staff, including a focus on resilience and staff health & well being

  • Ability to communicate often complicated concepts effectively, adapting the presentation style to meet the needs of a wide-ranging audience, including strategic partners, CYPS colleagues as well clients/families.
  • Expertise regarding critical appraisal skills & ability to facilitate reflective practice and learning in others
  • Expertise regarding identifying and acting upon adverse clinical signs & risk issues (including safeguarding).
  • Experience regarding management of complex HR issues from a professional nursing/Code of Conduct viewpoint.
  • Expertise in articulating strategic vision, values and ethos & managing complex organisational relationships.
  • Commitment to audit, research and Quality Improvement (QI)
  • Expertise in producing service documentation to a corporate standard.
  • Excellent initiative, delegation, negotiation & organisational skills (inc time management).
