We have an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and forward thinking physiotherapist to become our Specialist Physiotherapist within our FallsTherapy Team.

As Specialist Physiotherapist in Falls you will drive our Trust falls agenda, working with members of the multi-disciplinary team to leadimplementation of quality improvement projects to keep our inpatients moving, improve management of falls patients and reduce the number ofinpatient falls, as well as being a key part of the inpatient therapy team, providing specialist advice and education of staff.

You will hold a caseload of patients and work closely with ward-based therapy teams to support and guide in the cases of high-risk falls patients. If you are passionate about improving patient care and safety and about education, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

o To provide operational management and leadership to Falls team.o To manage own caseload and to provide a high standard of assessment, management, treatment and advice to meet the needs ofpatients.o To act as a point of contact for other agencies for issues relating to Falls prevention and management.o To work collaboratively with colleagues in health, social care, local authority and other agencies to meet the needs of patients.o To ensure Clinical Governance is integral to service delivery within the specialty area.o To lead Quality Improvement work to support maintaining mobility whilst in hospital and reduction in number of falls within the Trusto To promote importance of preventing deconditioning in inpatients, and lead training and Qi projects in relation to thiso To enhance skills of multi-disciplinary team in supporting patients after falls in hospitalo To enhance skills of multi-disciplinary team in falls prevention

Essential

  • Degree in physiotherapy
  • Current registration with Health and Care Professions Council
  • Evidence of advanced specialist clinical knowledge


Experience

Essential

  • Significant post graduate experience including work at Band 6 within the relevant specialty
  • Experience of management of highly complex patients within the specialty
  • Experience in clinical audit/research and effectiveness
  • Experience in the management and support of patients/carers with complex problems


Desirable

  • Change management
