An exciting opportunity has opened up within the Education and Practice Development team for a Senior Clinical Educator. You will be working alongside the existing Senior educator as a development opportunity for 2 days per week. The days maybe flexible to ensure you work alongside each other to learn and develop in the role and manage the Clinical Skills Team.
This influential role will develop and lead the delivery of ward and classroom-based education and competency-based assessment programmes across the organisation to develop knowledge and skills in patient assessment and management. This is a key aspect of the patient safety agenda for the Trust. The post holder, working as part of the Education and Practice Development Team, will develop and coordinate the implementation of these programmes to promote the highest standards of clinical practice and improved patient outcomes at the South Tees NHS Foundation Trusts hospital sites. The post holder will ensure the success and sustainability of corporate education programmes by collaborating effectively and influencing key stakeholders. In addition, they will role model, promote, recognise, and celebrate high standards of nursing care within their own practice.
Main duties of the job
Develop and deliver innovative, multi-professional educational programmes in line with the patient safety agenda workforce and patient need.
Working autonomously and using their own clinical expertise, the post holder will enable changes in the programme and changes in practice based on ongoing evaluation of education and the implementation.
Work as an integral part of the Education and Practice Development Team leading on and guiding the organisation to redesign clinical care delivery to ensure that robust clinical skills and associated training feature in the Trust's drive to enhance patient safety. Ensuring that staff are equipped to deliver clinical skills essential to care delivery competently and confidently.
Facilitate the development and acquisition of clinical skills and knowledge of ward based multi-professionals at all levels from simple to advances complex skills and within an inter-professional educational context.
Support and advise staff in promoting the delivery of high-quality care. Most of the work undertaken within the role of senior clinical educator is unsupervised and autonomous. Be professionally accountable for own actions.
Demonstrate excellent teaching methodologies and innovative learning in practice to staff and for patients.
Work as an autonomous practitioner managing time effectively, organise own workload and balance competing pressures to meet multiple deadlines.
