We are looking to recruit an experienced band 7 Social Worker to join as a member of our established Adolescent Outreach Team. The team are really fortunate that we have an experienced full multi disciplinary representation, and high levels of retention of staff. The MDT are skilled and highly committed to supporting the wider network, parents and carers to support young people to remain at home, and if required to come to hospital facilitate a safe discharge and reduce length of stay.
The post-holder will work within AOT as a Senior Case Worker providing Care Coordination and Assessment of an agreed caseload of AOT clients and will have the primary Social Worker role servicing the Social Work function in AOT.
The post-holder must be committed to effective team working and to the coherent delivery of the care this will include individual, family, group work and telephone support
The team are always looking to develop the service to meet the needs of the young people and their parents/carers, this role would be at the forefront of this.
The team has strong working relationships with our local inpatient service (Aquarius), SLP inpatient units (Snowsfields and BAU), Tier 3 community CAMHS, CAMHS Emergency Care Team (CECS), CAMHS Crisis Line and CAMHS Bed Management.
Main duties of the job
This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior Social Worker to join the established MDT.
The post-holder will work within AOT as a Senior Case Worker providing Care Coordination and Assessment of an agreed caseload of AOT clients and will have the primary Social Worker role servicing the Social Work function in AOT.
Agile and flexible working:
In this role you will be able to work 7 days of the week. The shifts will include 8am-4pm, 9-5pm and 12pm-8pm on weekdays and 11am-7pm on weekends and bank holidays, giving you the very best of good work life balance.

- The post holder will be a highly experienced social worker who has a sound knowledge of Mental health Legislation and Childrens inter-related childrens legislation.
- This is a stand alone post for a social worker within a health team so that the postholder must have sufficient professional confidence to hold that position and to be able to translate between the different worlds of health and childrens services
- The post holder will be expected to provide advice on child safeguarding processes and ensure Trust safeguarding policies and procedures are followed.
- The post holder can provide professional supervision for social workers in CAMHS and related services.
- The post holder will be expected to deputise for the CAHMS Social Worker Team Manager when unavailable.
- The post-holder must be committed to effective team working and to the coherent delivery of the care this will include individual, family, group work and telephone support.

Training & Qualifications
Essential
- oMasters Degree in relevant clinical subject or equivalent experience.
- oCurrent professional registration in relevant clinical subject/practice e.g. RMN, OT, Social Work, Clinical Psychologist.
- oEvidence of continuing Professional Development
- oMentorship qualification or equivalent
Desirable
- oDiploma/BSC in relevant clinical areas
- oAdditional qualification in a treatment modality eg CBT, DBT, Systemic Psychotherapy
- oFull and current UK driving licence
- oFamily Therapy/Family Work training
Experience
Essential
- oMinimum two years post registration experience, including post qualification and registration experience of working with young people.
- oExperience of specialist assessment and treatment of young people with serious mental health problems who are in crisis.
- oExperience of working with adolescents and families with highly complex mental health needs, high levels of emotional distress and risk-taking behaviours.
- oExperience of working with young people who self-harm and attempt suicide.
- oExperience of undertaking risk assessment and risk management, with the ability to analyse and make judgements and decisions about treatment plans.
- oExperience of providing specialist advice to other professionals.
- oExperience of maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
- oExperience of the application of therapeutic interventions within a multicultural framework.
- oExperience of teaching, training and/or supervision
- oExperience of working in a multidisciplinary team
Desirable
- oExperience in the delivery of psychological therapy, (i.e. DBT/CBT/MBT/FT) particularly for adolescents and families with complex needs and high levels of distress and risk-taking behaviours.
