We're looking for dynamic and motivated Band 5 RMN Nurse to Work in Acute Setting , Amberwood ward, at Little -Brook Hospital , Dartford
The Acute Services serves the community of Kent with assessment and treatment of adults of working age who are suffering from acute mental illnesses. This is a challenging yet rewarding environment and requires excellent organisation skills and the ability to use initiative. As well as working effectively within an experienced and knowledgeable nursing and medical team.
The Mental Health Nurse is a key member of the multidisciplinary care team and will have continuing responsibility to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, communicate findings, influence change and promote health and best practice, patient safety and experience.
The Mental Health Nurse will be professionally accountable to the Executive Director of Nursing, and operationally accountable to the Matron / Ward Manager.

Main duties of the job
- Carry out comprehensive, systematic nursing assessments which take account of relevant mental, physical, social, cultural, psychological, spiritual, and environmental factors, in partnership with the patient and others through interaction, observation and measurement.
- Work collaboratively with other disciplines, patients and their carers to agree a holistic person centred care plan that addresses the needs identified through assessment.
- To deliver and evaluate safe, competent patient centred care in partnership with the service user and their carers to support recovery.

- Completion of a preceptorship programme

- Pre-registration experience of mental health settings and or working with people with mental health conditions
- Experience of working within an acute mental health setting

- Some clinical experience of mental health problems
Knowledge and Skills

- Knowledge and experience in working with patients detained under the MHA 1983 (amended 2007)
- Basic knowledge of and ability to apply relevant legislative frameworks and policies relating to care e.g. Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding, Consent to Treatment.
- A basic understanding and ability to apply principles of risk assessment and risk management.
