Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist (Older Adults)
AFC Band 7 (preceptorship) / 8a - (0.8 WTE) - Permanent
Are you an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced Clinical / Counselling Psychologist committed to delivering equitable psychological care to service users, families and carers within later life services? Do you have an area of interest you'd like the support to develop, and the autonomy to develop it? Would you enjoy working within the beautiful county of Wiltshire?An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 (preceptorship) / 8a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist to provide an essential role into our community mental health team in North and East Wiltshire (NEW) and support the wider Wiltshire Psychological Therapies Service. The role is primarily based in Chippenham and Devizes, but provides clinical services to the older adult population throughout Wiltshire.
We are an enthusiastic and innovative team which values the input and contribution of all our staff, and strives to offer the best services possible to our service users. As the provision of supervision, consultation and training to other colleagues within the service is both highly valued and an essential part of the role, being able to demonstrate skill and experience in this area would be an advantage. We would particularly value experience and/or training in neuropsychology and a range of therapeutic models.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated to provide an excellent evidenced-based psychological service within a changing environment. They will have experience of working with individuals in later life with complex and enduring psychological difficulties and cognitive impairment, and they will have a proven commitment to the development of later life services.
Working as both part of the Wiltshire PTS and the CMHT offers psychologists the chance to treat a range of disorders and presenting difficulties. This means that you can maintain your skills across a diverse client group, or further develop a specialist interest, such as neuropsychology.
As the provision of supervision, consultation and training to other colleagues within the service is both highlyvalued and an essential part of the role, being able to demonstrate skill and experience in this area would bean advantage. We would particularly value experience and/or training in CBT, DBT, MBT, CAT or ACT and groupbased working.
