The post holder will support the Ophthalmic Imaging team for the provision and overall smooth running of our clinical services. They will have responsibility for performing and training staff in all imaging tests and procedures including Ophthalmic Ultrasound.
The post holder will be responsible for the effective and efficient maintenance of a comprehensive angiography, imaging and photography service to Bristol Eye Hospital. They should be able to prioritise and plan their own workload and have the ability to work independently as well as working closely and supervising other members of the team. The post holder will support the Heads of Department (HODs) with the management of the department.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Duties
You will be performing and training staff on the following clinical care duties (this list is not exhaustive and will change with the service in line with developing competency frameworks):
FFA and ICG
OCT, OCT-A and fundus photography including widefield
Anterior Segment Imaging (Topography, OCT, Slit lamp photography)
Research Imaging including the Topcon TRC 50DX fundus camera
Ophthalmic Ultrasound including Ultrasound Bio-microscopy
Leadership and management
To support clinical research, audit and teaching activities as required.
Act as a deputy and support to the Head of Ophthalmic Imaging
Participate in department and subspecialty meetings as required and contribute to service innovation and development.
Assist with the departmental staff allocation, ensuring all clinics are covered as required.
Communicate with relevant departments to facilitate training in imaging techniques, coordinating this training and being involved with sign off as appropriate.
Have knowledge of department and Trust policies including annual leave, sickness, absence and recruitment
Assist heads of department with recruitment, absence reporting, appraisals, 1:1's
Be a point of contact to other members of staff as appropriate, both professionally and personally as required.
