To co-ordinate and provide skilled nursing (without direct supervision) to patients, in accordance with responsibilities under the NMC Code of Conduct.
To work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team , internal and external to the organisation , to facilitate holistic seamless care delivery for all Trust Patients
To ensure smooth running of dermatology clinics.
To Plan , implement and evaluate nursing care for an allocated patient group ,in consideration of individual need, using prioritisation and delegation skills.
To contribute to the continuing development of nursing including the supervision /teaching of nursing and medical staff
Main duties of the job
Develop and run nurse-led clinics, working in conjunction with the consultant in the development of protocols.
Continually develop and monitor the effectiveness of the Dermatology services provided by the Trust
Contribute to Dermatology service development
Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of evidence based nursing standards, guidelines, protocols, policies and care pathways
Contribute to the development and implementation of the Trust's Nursing and Midwifery Strategy
Lead and support the implementation of the cancer outcomes and Quality Surveillance Programme requirements, leading on patient experience and service developments
To assess new patients and make referrals when required.
Identify and provide support, advice and teaching to nursing and junior medical staff in the care and management of Dermatology patients.
Contribute to in-house clinical skills programmes
Act as a mentor/supervisor for nurses undertaking training in the speciality.
Contribute to the pre-registration
Participate and lead in clinical research
