Dorset CAMHS is launching a brand-new Crisis and Liaison team that will operate within the three Acute Hospitals and across the community. This service will provide comprehensive Mental Health assessments and short-term crisis treatment interventions to support young people who are in crisis and to enable and empower them to a place of stability.

This new team already has an excellent, experienced and skilled workforce of practitioners and clinical managers, and we would love for new energetic, passionate and experienced staff to join us as we expand to build a well-supported, clinically skilled team across Dorset.

We are investing heavily in a comprehensive training package to ensure that all staff have the tools they need to operate safely and confidently with our young people. Whilst experience working with young people is a requirement, the training to assess, manage and treat those in crisis will be part of the induction to this team, alongside excellent supervision from our team of clinical and operational managers.

Main duties of the job

This role would be predominantly focused on working with young people in the three Acute Hospitals in Dorset. We support flexible working where possible, and the role can incorporate a hybrid of home working and site working across the three Hospitals. The service operates from 8am to 9pm, 7 days a week so there is scope for weekend working and enhancements, longer but fewer working days through the week as well as early or late shifts.

This is a full time role of 37.5hrs, but part time may be considered.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • RMN, Allied Health Professional, SW, RNLD with appropriate experience.
  • Evidence of giving and receiving Clinical Supervision or work towards it.
Desirable
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development at post graduate level.
  • Qualification in psychosocial Interventions/CBT/DBT.
Additional requirements Essential
  • Access to a car that can be used for work purposes
  • Experience using Information Technology systems
Job Specific Experience Essential
  • Experience of working with children or adults who experience a range of mental health and emotional difficulties.
  • Experience of assessing, planning and implementing programmes of care, particularly in an acute or community setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding in order to Safeguard children.
Desirable
  • Experience of offering Consultation and training to professional colleagues.
Personal Qualities and Attributes Essential
  • A high level of interpersonal skills, self-awareness and empathy in all communications.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice.
  • The ability to work under pressure in acute settings without supervision.
