South West London and St Georges / South London and Maudsley’ Adult Eating Disorders Community service, is one of two specialist eating disorders community services within the South London Partnerships’ (SLP) Adult Eating Disorder Provider Collaborative , providing specialist eating disorders care. The SLP is a collaboration between South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust. The Partnership brings together clinical and service user expertise, working to improve quality, use resources most effectively, and deliver best practice consistently to the service users and families across South London.
Both community services within the SLP are recruiting a number of multidisciplinary roles for an innovative new Enhanced Treatment Team for south London . This Enhanced Treatment Team will work closely with the SLP Single Point of Referral to provide an alternative to inpatient care and will provide support to service users and their families in their own home. The teams will be working across the whole of south London to deliver this innovative approach which enables people to access sericves swiftly , potentially avoid admission and to receive care near to home for time limited periods where required.

Main duties of the job
- To provide appropriate therapy as part of a multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment plan.
- To be responsible for implementing a range of group work interventions focusing on life skills training, motivational and creative activities, systemic, psychological, and psychotherapeutic interventions for individual patients, and carers, families and groups.
- To be responsible for recording clinical work and communicating, both orally and in writing, in a skilled and constructive manner highly complex or distressing information, for example regarding the experience and effects of anorexia and other severe eating disorders.
- Supporting the team with complex cases and jointly visiting patients in their home or in the community to offer senior support.
- To work in close liaison with other services including health and social care, acute hospitals, services across the ED pathway and within the provider collaborative.
- To work collaboratively with the ANP for SLAM Enhanced Treatment Team
- To work closely with patients and their carers, offering family interventions, support, and guidance.
- To act as care coordinator, taking responsibility for initiating planning and review of care plans.
- To be a clinical expert in the field of Eating Disorders, supporting junior staff with clinician decision making and acting as a point of escalation.

Person Specification Training & Qualification Essential
- First degree in mental health nursing
- Professional registration with NMC
- Evidence of relevant professional development
- Further post registration training in child and adolescent mental health
- Supervision training
- An appropriate professional qualification to supervise students in training. (e.g. ENB 998 or Practice Teacher Award)
- A postgraduate qualification in a therapeutic modality relevant to child mental health.
- Significant post qualification experience
- Significant experience of working with eating disorders
- Significant experience of working with adolescents with mental health difficulties
- Clinical risk assessment and management of vulnerable client groups
- Leadership experience
- Experience of developing services and influencing and managing a change process
- Experience of Racial Awareness/Diversity Training
- Conducting service evaluations
- Working collaboratively with service users and/or carers to develop services
- Knowledge of current child mental health guidance and legislation
- Ability to co-ordinate and deliver a day programme
- Ability to plan and develop local policy and procedure
- Demonstrate knowledge of Mental Health Act.
- Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity to minority and ethnic groups
- Database skills
