Due to the fast development of Radiotherapy Physics services at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (formerly Royal Devon & Exeter), we are seeking to recruit a 12 month fixed-term Band 6 Dosimetrist. Applications must be HCPC registered with a minimum of 2 years radiotherapy experience in any specialty specific experience of treatment planning is not required.

This post is advertised as fixed term, however we expect that this may become permanent/substantive budget permitting and assuming a strong performance from the appointed candidate.

The successful candidate will support the routine operations of treatment planning & mould room and contribute to the continuing transformation of our Radiotherapy Physics group.

This is an exciting time to join our friendly team in sunny Devon. We are proud to provide a challenging and supportive environment that fosters continuous professional development and freedom to shape services, with our ambition to become the best in class. We are developing closer collaboration across the SEND (South, East and North Devon) Medical Physics network. Active collaboration with peers at Torbay Hospital is expected.

Our Oncology Centre currently houses three matched, fully loaded TrueBEAM Linear Accelerators, a Canon Wide Bore CT scanner and Eclipse TPS to support the planning of external beam treatments. Treatment workflows are fully paperless and managed using Aria R& V. The department has a well-established SABR programme and boasts an excellent portfolio of clinical trials both in terms of recruitment and diversity. We have a lively brachytherapy service treating a range of patient indications, with our HDR afterloader.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who can work autonomously but also as part of a wider team.

Some out-of-hours work, weekends and bank holiday working is required. This is shared between colleagues on a rota system. The department also offers flexible working patterns and opportunities to work from home.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
