An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Operations Manager within ICCR. The post holder will work closely with the Associate Director within ICCR to ensure service performance and targets are met. The post holder will support the senior leadership team in the development and delivery of service strategy and ensure appropriate risk management processes are in place. The post holder will deliver efficient and effective business management support, supporting managers and staff to ensure that their work stream of activities are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery.

Main duties of the job

Manage appropriate projects and proactively develop services in a complex, fast moving environment. The role will facilitate and support transformational change across ICCR which aim to raise standards of care for patients and provide sustainable services.

Effectively lead meetings and initiatives involving a broad range of complex activities including formulating developing and adjusting service and business plans.

Lead in the coordination of training and development and collation of recruitment activity across the team.

Assist in the management of the regular cycle of reporting to the team, Board and Executive Committee. Other duties as per job description.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Further training or significant experience to post-graduate diploma level. Evidence of continued professional development.


Desirable

  • Master level qualification or equivalent experience.


Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of providing business support to Senior leaders and managing relationships between senior professionals.
  • Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures.
  • Experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes.
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at senior management team level.


Skills/Abilities

Essential

  • Ability to apply knowledge and experience in managing complex and competing projects.
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast paced and pressurised environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium and long term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly.
  • Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communication for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required.
