We are looking for fulltime & part time staff to come & join the occupational therapy service to support us cover secondments, maternity leave across our Nottinghamshire directorate.

The post enables you to gain a wide range of experience across our inpatient & community settings.

Working hours are Monday - Friday, 8.30-4.30pm, however we can offer flexibility.

Main duties of the job

  • The post-holder will work in a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessment and interventions which promotes recovery enabling patients to remain at home, or return home, and support their positive mental and physical wellbeing.

    Some of the duties of this job include:
    • To provide an occupational therapy service for older people with complex mental health needs who are referred to the service including providing duty cover for the team.
    • To carry out specialist occupational therapy assessment, goal setting, implementation of treatment programmes and evaluation.
    • To establish the needs of individuals referred to the service and plan care with colleagues from health, social services, families, and the voluntary sector.
    • To represent and promote the specialist role of Occupational Therapy.

Person Specification
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to undertake specialist OT assessments and assess complex risks
  • Ability to apply OT process according to needs and best practise
  • Understanding and aware of equality and diversity including the diverse needs of older adults

  • Ability to undertake initial mental health assessments and experience of care coordination and CPA.
  • Clinical Supervision skills
  • Presentation / teaching skills

  • HCPC registered

  • Practice Placement Educator APPLE / LAPPLE trained

Further training
  • Evidence of regular relevant CPD

  • Experience of working with older adults with mental health conditions and dementia)
  • Experience of effective MDT working

  • community experience
  • Recent experience of working with older adults with physical conditions

  • Positive attitude of working with older adults
  • Positive view of risk enablement and recovery with older adults
