Main duties of the job

TITLE OF POST: Bank Specialist Physiotherapist Respiratory

SALARY BAND: Band 6

LOCATION: Trust wide

RESPONSIBLE TO: THERAPY EXECUTIVE LEAD FOR OT/PT

PROFESSIONALLY

ACCOUNTABLE TO: THERAPY EXECUTIVE LEAD FOR OT/PT

HOURS PER WEEK: Variable - Bank Position

Key result areas:

1. To provide a high standard physiotherapy service to patients in all rotational areas

2. To acquire and demonstrate knowledge of relevant pathologies, conditions, normal values relating to the specialist area of physiotherapy.

3. To be responsible for own case load and be responsible within a defined area of the service and to undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

4. To supervise and contribute to the training and development of physiotherapy assistants and junior physiotherapists and physiotherapy students.

5. To make recommendations for service development, with active involvement in the implementation of changes to practice or service protocols.

Job responsibilities

AIM OF THE ROLE:

To provide high quality respiratory physiotherapy management to patients at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. To participate in a cross site rotational scheme, providing a high standard of physiotherapy to patients within medicine, surgery and intensive care environments.

To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to develop and deliver individualised treatment programmes and discharge plans where required.

Essential

  • HCPC registration or equivalent professional registration as a physiotherapist
  • At least 6 months NHS Experience
