Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 you will have the opportunity to work in our dementia inpatient unit, the Specialist Older Adults Community Mental Health Team (SOAMHS) and the Memory Assessment Service (MAS). A system for rotation has been developed to ensure that you have the opportunity to work in all 3 parts of the Dementia Pathway.
To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID
The trust can offer preceptorship, support, mentoring and opportunities for development. We have dementia training available at all levels from dementia awareness through to Certificate, Post graduate diploma & MSC, all in dementia studies. We also support clinicians to apply for training to become Advanced Clinical Practitioners.

Act as a Primary Nurse within a multidisciplinary team providing collaborative needs based care plans through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Provide excellent professional, compassionate and evidenced based nursing care in a person centered way.
Be visible and accessible to patients, carers and families working together to provide effective and efficient caring services.
Safely administer medication following trust policies and guidance.
Contribute to achieving quality standards and outcomes and performance indicators.
Contribute to the education and development of the workforce including students
Contribute to staff appraisal and support personal development plans
Active involvement in the well being of patients and staff
Provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect & dignity
Ensure own professional development including mandatory training and supervision.
Participation in appraisal process with objectives which relate to the trust strategy for older people and dementia services.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- RN on part 3 or 13 of NMC register for UK
- Meet NMC requirements for maintenance of registration
- Demonstration of personal development
- Experience of working with people with serious mental health problems
