We have an exciting opportunity for three Band 6 Research nurse posts, working with the Acute Care (REACT) and GI Research Team's.
The REACT Research Team have 2 substantive posts, they deliver research across the acute care specialities, this includes Critical Care, Trauma and Stroke. The portfolio delivers studies that includes CTIMPs, medical device trials and observation studies, often recruiting patients within tight time frames following an injury. You will need to act as an advocate for many of the patients as they often lack capacity due to their injuries or illness.
The GI Research portfolio a 12-month secondment opportunity, they have an exciting range of both commercial and academic clinical trials. The trials include observational, as well as interventional and translational studies predominately in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Within the GI delivery team, the post holder will be involved in trials with innovative drugs in IBD using endoscopy, biomarkers and patient reported outcomes as endpoints led by internationally recognised investigators.
You will gain experience in supporting and leading on the delivery of specialized, patient, and protocol driven care in partnership with patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team. You will ensure that patient care is delivered according to best practice, Trust policies and Good Clinical Practice.
Main duties of the job
To be successful in these roles you will need to be a level 1 Registered Nurse, with experience at in an acute care setting. Applicants need to demonstrate a willingness to train for extended roles which include venepuncture, cannulation and administration of biologics. - *Registered level 1 Adult Nurse on the NMC register
- *Relevant degree or equivalent in nursing
Desirable
- *Health care management / leadership qualification.

- *Professional portfolio which demonstrates continuing professional development, evidence of ability to maintain professional registration
- *Substantial post registration experience working in a complex health care setting / Acute NHS care setting supervising / mentoring junior staff
